Checklist - How Assignment C will be assessed
To pass this assignment you must have done everything listed below. Use the checklist before submitting your work.

Your marker will consider how well you have done each of the following:
You have produced all five items specified:

1. An essay entitled New Cutting Edge Advanced – An Evaluation.

2. An authentic text. This must not be taken from educational website.

3. Three teaching activities to exploit the text, together with aims, instructions and any materials a
teacher would need to use them.
At least one activity must be of your own design and not copied from another source.

4. An essay entitled Using Authentic Materials and the Internet in the Language Classroom.
5. A bibliography listing all items referred to. (At least four references) 5
Part One
The evaluation covers both of the areas specified in the rubric:
(i) Evaluate the book and (ii) say why you would or would not like to use this book
The evaluation is the required length (300 -500 words)
Part Two
1. Authentic text and follow up 3 activities
The material selected is authentic, (NOT designed for language teaching), not sourced from an educational
website, properly referenced and appropriate for the class described:
A mixed nationality class of 15 Advanced C1-C2 adults (9 women, 6 men, ages 20-40 years).
If a listening text has been chosen, a link is provided and the script has been written out
You have highlighted 12 vocabulary items (words or phrases) which it would be useful to pre-teach
Your activities include: A dictionary activity
An activity using online resources
Another follow up activity of your own choice
The 3 activities are clearly related to the text in some way
At least one activity is your own design
Aims and instructions for teachers and all necessary materials have been included for each activity
You have provided a worksheet and identified websites students could use for your internet activity
Each activity would achieve stated aim
The material is interesting and engaging and appropriate for advanced students
Adapted materials and any other material referred to have been properly referenced in the bibliography
2. Essay
The essay is the required length (500-700 words)
The essay covers all of the four areas specified in the rubric
