P1; Explain Key Influences on The Personal Learning Processes of Individuals

For this section of work, I will be writing a report about the significant influences on an
individual’s learning process of individuals, this shows the different ways effect their
learning habits. There are lots of things which can influence a person’s learning
development, these can be helpful or harmful encouragements. I will also include an
explanation of skills for learning and how they could affect me positively and negatively,
including another individual also. Lastly, I will be including a section on the Kolb’s and
Honey and Mumford’s theory’s and their explanation on learning.

Influence on Learning
What is personal learning development?
Personal learning development is a lifelong process, it is a way for people to assess their
skills and qualities consider their aims in life and set goals in order to realise and maximise
their potential. It is a method of individuals to measure their skills and qualities, reflect their
goals in life as well as set goals to understand and take full advantage of their potential.
Learning styles is only one of the many influences on how people can learn. By an individual
knowing and understanding how they learn helps their progress extremely on what they are
doing so they are able to focus on the positive influences. However, they should always
remember that everyone’s learning may be influenced by factors outside their own
experience. Those working in a health and social care setting will need to be aware of the
factors that influence another people’s learning. Personal habits and routines, beliefs,
customs, values, motivation and career aspiration.
