, Part B: HRM Practices
Introduction
General Motors (GM) is referred to as a leading vehicle manufacturing organisation of the world
and the organisation is operating in the automotive industry. The organisation prioritised
innovative vehicle manufacturing to foster competitive edge and GM has large-scale production
capabilities which contributed to organisational overall success. Decentralised and centralised
HRM functions are combined by GM to operate organisational business (General Motors, 2023).
Due to the influence of competitive labour market skills shortage turned into a key issue for
automotive industry. GM is facing the issue and struggling to assess technical experts and skilled
engineers. Therefore, HRM strategies are required to be leveraged and aligned with
organisational goals by GM to attract, develop, and retain talent and foster sustainable business
growth (Armstrong, 2020). The study is seeking to develop an individual portfolio of evidence.
HR practices and processes of GM related to talent management, selection, and recruitment will
