Abstract
, Pains of Colonialism 2
The Falkland Islands conflict is the representation of a centuries long dispute between the
sovereign nations of Argentina and Great Britain. Their disputes and eventual war was created
through centuries of emotional ties and lack of understanding, a war that was essentially carried
over from one era to another. What we learn from these two engaging in this conflict is that
when a country decides to take a realist approach to a situation it can have major effects on the
public opinion and world influence. Conflict is an undeniable outcome when living in a world so
interconnected, and when emotions go unchecked and are allowed to fester the consequences of
those actions become permanent.
