If something is informal usually uses first person pronoun while formal writing uses third
person pronoun. The tone used in informal frequently more personal and subjective may be
ironic, amusing, angry or serious but if is formal is objective, tends to hold the emotions. The
vocabulary in informal can be slang and colloquialisms but if is formal the vocabulary is
technical according to the subject.
