1. Interpersonal roles: dealing with and motivations staff at all levels
2. Informational roles: acting as a source, receiver and transmitter of information
3. Decisional roles: taking decisions and allocating resources to meet objectives
Leader: with an authoritative position who steps forward to provide guidance and motivation to a
group of people
→ rules, inspires and authoritative
Leadership- depends on how they use leadership qualities and what they are ‘leading’.

Figure head Showing leader qualities and doing social or legal duties
Leader Motivating workers/selecting and training staff
Liaison Leading and participating meeting with internal staff and other business
decision/organisations
Informational Roles
Monitor (Receiver) Collecting data for business such as research
Disseminator Using data collecting and presenting to external and internal part of
business
Spokesperson Communicating current position and achievements to external receivers
Decisional Roles
Entrepreneur Looking for opportunities to develop business
Disturbance Handler Responding to changes in external factors that threatens the business and
puts business at risk.
Resource Allocator Making financial decision and allocation of its physical and human
resources
Negotiator Representing organisation in important negotiations (government).
