Scoring - Answer-Two types of scoring in badminton.
One is traditional method of scoring in which only the server(in singles) or serving
team(in doubles) can score points.
These games are played to 15 points, win by 2 points.
Second scoring method became new in 2006 and is called "Rally Point" or "Quick Point"
whichever player wins the serve or rally scores the points, regardless of who served.
That person or team becomes the server or serving team.
In the rally point scoring system, games are played to 21 points with a required two
point difference to determine the winner. As a result, games could go longer than 21
points.
How the game is played:
Singles Play - Answer-At the start of the game, the individual serving first begins on the
right side and serves diagonally across to the opponent's court. When the server's score
is 0 or an even number, the server serves from the right side and when the server's
score is an odd number, he/she serves from the left side.
The server continues to serve as long as the server makes no error. When the server
commits a fault, and loses the serve, no points are scored, "side-out" is called, and the
opponent serves.
