Throughout this course, I have explored various aspects of language, identity, and
culture, which have significantly expanded my understanding of myself and my
community. This portfolio reflects my journey of self-discovery, particularly how my
language background shapes my identity and interpersonal relationships. I will share
my initial reflections, family tree, terms of address in different South African
languages, insights from the Black Mambas article, and a profound moment from
Thabo Mbeki's speech. I hope that these activities can illustrate not only what I have
learned, but also how I have grown throughout this semester.
