awareness regarding cancer, its prevention, and ways to maintain quality of life
while living with the disease.
Dr. Tlou provided a briefing on World Cancer Day, which has the theme
"Increasing Impact through Transparency, Accountability, and Partnerships" in
2024. He emphasized that as cancer issues grow, workplaces continue to be
affected. According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), many cancer
patients are aged between 25 and 49, and cancer remains the leading infectious
cause of death globally. Dr. Tlou stressed the importance of enhancing awareness
efforts.
