Spodisols - ✔✔Soils with a "spodic" horizon (an organic layer within the

soil profile. Spodisols occur in coarse-textured (sandy) soils dominated by

coniferous or other vegetation that contributes large amounts of soluble

organic acids to the soil surface.

Histosols - ✔✔Organic soils developed usually under wet conditions.

"Hist" comes from the root meaning "tissue". Found in the Florida

Everglades south of Lake Okeechobee and scattered in the northern U..S.
