Why do you want to work at Walgreens? - ANSWER: I always receive
excellent treatment at Walgreens and would be delighted to represent them.

What would you do if you found that medicine was out of stock? - ANSWER I
would inform my supervisor rather than leaving it for someone else to find.


Describe an incident in which you went out of your way to help a customer and
explain why. - ANSWER When I was a hostess at Theresa's South, a
reservation informed us that dinner would be served following their
engagement, so I went out to purchase flowers and a congratulations card for
their table when they arrived. I did this to make them feel unique for the
occasion and make their experience more personal.


Describe an instance when you received constructive criticism and how you
used it to improve yourself. - ANSWER "I got a low grade on a chemistry
project last year." When I asked my professor about the low grade, he told me,
'You can do better. I anticipated more from you. I was taken aback at first, but
after giving it some thought, I realized that he expected more from me since he
had high expectations for what I could do. It was a praise and a challenge
bundled into one! I re-did the homework with more enthusiasm the second time
around. My grade increased dramatically, and I thanked the professor for
holding me to a higher standard.


Tell me about a time you had to deal with a situation at work. When I was a
hostess, a table of five was a walk-in and didn't understand why they couldn't be
seated at the sole open table for five, so I had to explain that even though no one
was physically sitting there at the time, the table had already been reserved.
They gave me a hard time, but I remained calm and continued to explain the
problem, eventually directing them to management.

job, and how you handled it. - ANSWER I collaborated closely with someone
who, for the most part, always did her fair share of the work. During a tense
period while working on a project with a deadline, I found Ann's contributions
to the project were nearly nonexistent. I decided to wait until after the
assignment to speak with her. I'm glad I did since I discovered she was going
through a difficult period in her personal life, and she appreciated my
willingness to go the additional mile to ensure the assignment was completed on
time. As a result, our ability to work well together improved substantially.


Describe a moment where you have to pay attention to detail—ANSWER When
I worked at Hoffman's Ice Cream, I did. Work a cash register and be responsible
for ensuring that the cash drawer is accurate at the end of each shift. I'm
delighted to say that it was 100 percent accurate."


How well can you handle criticism? - ANSWER Whether it was at school or at
my prior jobs, if a professor or manager would critique or point out an error to
me, I would thank them for doing so. Their acceptance of my mistakes and
showing me the answer made me feel more confident in my work, now knowing
their expectations.


What skills did your previous work experiences teach you that you can apply to
this position? - ANSWER I learned how. Multitask, prioritize customers, and be
quick on the computer with names, phone numbers, and demands.
