Halon/BRX Fire Extinguisher - ANS Used for A, B, and C fires. With hose, lasts 12
seconds. Without hose, lasts 8 seconds.
Protective Breathing Equipment (PBE) - ANS Oxygen duration is 15 minutes. Blinking
green light indicates that oxygen is still flowing. Alternating green/red light indicates it is
time to vacate the scene before oxygen runs out.
Water Fire Extinguisher - ANS Should only be used on class A fires or on PEDs.
Contains an antifreeze additive which may cause skin/eye irritation. Water will last 30
seconds continuously and you must turn the cylinder clockwise until it punctures the
cartridge to start use.
Portable Pulse Oxygen Bottle (PPOB) - ANS Lasts up to 180 minutes. Should only be
used when a person is breathing.
Portable Oxygen Bottle (POB) - ANS Make sure to not deplete below 500 psi if other
oxygen sources are available. Hose should be plugged into the high flow outlet and
gauge should be faced towards the aisle or FA when in use.
Aviox Oxygen (Dual Canister) - ANS Used following a decompression. Gets very hot
(500 degrees F). Each canister lasts 20 mins.
CPR pocket mask - ANS Attach valve port toward the body. Reverse the mask for
infants.
Thermal Containment Bag (TCB) - ANS Used to contain heat and fire from a PED.
What are cabin doors equipped with to warn individuals that the jet bridge or air stairs
are not positioned at the open door? - ANS Door safety straps
What is the preflight safety check of the lavatory? - ANS 1. Ensure all placards are in
