LZT2 Task 1
There are two IT teams that work for Global Networks Administrators Groups (GNAG).
One group is based out of the United States and the other based out of India. The US team isn’t
handling all of their daily tasks in a timely fashion, and it is forcing the workload overseas to the
Indian team. Unfortunately, due to the lack of leadership and teamwork, the service level
agreements have been pushed from the 4-hour time frame to 24 hours which is unacceptable for
not only the company but customers and in turn shareholders and stakeholders as well. The
Indian team is unable to get to their requests due to the influx of US requests. It is important as
the new Manager for GNAG that the strategy be reconsidered and the day to day be reformulated
to have better success both domestically and internationally.
Leadership Style/Strategic Approach
As the new Manager for GNAG it is imperative that a new leadership approach be
implemented. Considering the current environment in the US, we need to ensure that these
individuals begin working together toward a shared common goal while still maintaining
employee morale to have that delicate balance of tension and desired success. The leadership
style that will be implemented is the Achievement Style. The goal is to seek improvement and
have positive reinforcement so that employees are more likely to continue the behavior.
Employees will be rewarded with their hard work and commended for a job well done. This will
in turn boost morale and lighten the workload for the Indian team that way they can focus on the
international issues while the US realigns to focus on domestic ones. Collaboration throughout
the transformation will be crucial not only from management but also to and from both the
domestic and international teams. This will ensure each team is on the same page and there will
be full transparency throughout the organization.
