, QUESTION 1 [15 MARKS]

You have been invited to deliver a speech to young
graduates about important issues in project management.
To educate them properly answer the questions that
follow.
 Please note you will be required to do research on the
questions below.
 Also indicate your references

1.1. Discuss five constraints, besides a project budget, that
a project manager must balance to successfully
complete a project(5 marks).

1. Scope

Scope is one of the major regulatory factors that a project manager is
faced with in her work; it is understood as the defined goals, products,
and results that the project is set to accomplish. When not controlled or
veered into informally, scope creep the act of changing a project’s
objectives without authorization can impact other aspects of the project
if not controlled (Larson & Gray, 2018). That is why keeping the project
scope clear and avoiding project scope creep helps the project remain
on task and does not exhaust resources.

2. Time

Time concerns the project calendar, which is made up of due dates on
milestones, as well as the overall project duration. Time is highly sensitive as it
may result to costs wastage, unavailability of resources and finally, dissatisfaction
among the stakeholders (Larson & Gray, 2018). A project manager will need to
make certain that the project is on schedule, which is often done with automated
project scheduling tools, including Gantt charts and Critical Path Method (CPM).
