Questions and Answers
What kind of person was Richard Nixon that led to the Watergate scandal?(paranoid,
thought he was above the law...) - Answer-Richard Nixon was a very paranoid person.
He had a hard time trusting others which influenced his management style and his
decision making process. He thought that presidents were above the law and could do
anything they wanted. He had two personalities, he was different in front of the public
and at home.
If Richard Nixon had not resigned, do you think he should have been impeached? Why?
- Answer-I think he should have been impeached and removed from the office because
he committed misdemeanors. He thought that he could do everything since he was a
president and a good president wouldn't think so. He abused his powers and that
should've led to an impeachment.
Should Richard Nixon have been pardoned? Why? - Answer-I think he should've been
pardoned but he shouldn't have gotten the same pension and allowance as others. He
still didn't understand what he did wrong but he had been punished enough by having to
resign. Gerald Ford does it for himself, the country and also for Nixon because he
wanted to move on. Nixon shouldn't have gotten the same pension because he did
something wrong and that looked like he was being rewarded for that.
