System 1 vs. System 2 System 1 thinking is based on our day to day tasks. For example, When I wake up in the morning I have to get the kids up and dressed for school, go get gas, go to work and take the kids to soccer practice later. It requires little to know effort, very task oriented. As for System two I feel is more focused on our problem solving skills. System two is useful when forming opions on what would be the best way to solve a certain situation. An example of this would be if you have teenagers that are acting out before punishing them I would have to logically and critically think on what would be the best way to get them back on the right track. You would’t want to make a rash decison because that could make the situation worse that what it alreaady is. I would consult with other parents of teenagers and see if they have experienced these same issues with their child and see how they handled it and what was the result of it. I would have to weigh the pro and cons and make the decison that was best suitable for myself and my children.
