Complications Medication Administration
Dermatoligic Diaphoresis, decreased libido, Adult: PO 20mg
gastrointestinal: constipation, diarrhea, nausea, dyspepsia,
dizziness, drowsiness, insomnia, headace, rash, tremors,
blurred vision
Contraindications/Precautions
Hypersensitivity to paroxxetine or any component of the
formulation, concurrent use with or within 14 days of Nursing Interventions
monamine oxidase inhbitors, concomitant use with
pimozide or thioridazine, pregnancy Monitor for depression, sucidal
ideation, adverse effects, NA
intake, weight loss, and therapy
Interactions
Do not use with pimozide, it reduces the abosroption of
the drug. Cimetidine increases paroxetine levels and
Phenytoin can cause lower paroxetine levels and shorter
half-lives

Use caution when operating
Evaluation of Medication Effectiveness machinery or actions that take
alertness to use
Sleep, energy, or appetite may show improvement,
depressed mood and lack of interest in activities may need
6-8 weeks to fully improve
