Principe 1: Construeren en concretiseren

Leerlingen leren door construeren, ze bouwen op hun eigen wijze kennis en vaardigheden. Hierbij is de
leerling actief. De leerkracht start het onderwijs telkens in concrete situaties , dit helpt de leerling te
construeren. De context is daarbij herkenbaar voor de leerling en daagt uit tot interactie.

Door middel van probleemsituaties die voor kinderen herkenbaar zijn wordt de nieuwsgierigheid en
inventiviteit van kinderen geprikkeld. Op deze wijze worden leer- en denkprocessen op gang gebracht en
gaan kinderen vaardigheden toepassen. Zelf ontdekt is half geleerd.




Principe 2: Niveaus en modellen


Leerlingen werken op hun eigen ontwikkelingsniveau. Als leerkracht sluit je hierbij aan door modellen te
bieden die de leerling in staat stelt om vanuit het concreet handelen in herkenbare contexten via een model
naar formeel rekenen te komen. Differentiatie in de rekenles dus niet enkel naar tempo of lesstof maar ook
op oplossingsniveau (Concreet-Modelmatig-Formeel). De modellen stimuleren de niveauverhoging.
