response generalization - the extent to which a child engages in behavior that have not been
directly trained that are functionally equivalent to the train Target Behavior
setting / situation generalization - the extent to which a child engages in a Target Behavior without
direct training in situations or stimulus situations that are different from those in which the child
originally learn the target Behavior
generalization - Behavior changes that appear in revelant settings in stimulus situations and
spread to related functionally equivalent behaviors without direct training
two types of generalization are - 1. setting / situation generalization
2. response generalization
Settings / situation generalization involves 3 settings and situations - environment, people , visual
/ verbal stimuli
two types of settings discussed in maintenance and generalization - 1 instructional setting
2 generalization setting
instruction setting - the settings and or stimulus situation in which the child originally learns the
target Behavior
generalization setting - any setting or stimulus situation other than instruction setting in which the
target behavior is desired
maintenance - the continuation of behavior change after all or a part of the intervention
responsible for the behavior change has faded or terminated. simpler terms behaviour last or maintain
