company’s decision-making process (Unit 3: Module 2)
1. Company culture
The company culture is based around innovation and collaboration. Their core
values are based on a clan type of culture. The emphasis on collaboration
throughout the company works mutually with the mission of innovation by
encouraging employees to provide ideas and input. The company can lean
into creativity and innovation by combining and taking the best ideas from
several minds. While the current culture may be conducive to innovation, it
may have a slower approach in decision making. The processes are
lengthened due to the several change of hands. With more opinions comes
more changes and revisions.
2. Organizational structure
The organization structure is a decentralized one. The structure is
collaborative in nature where management and employees have a say. All
founders and current employees are all on an even playing field when it
comes to decision making. This is unconventional but does cultivate a strong
environment of innovation. As mentioned above, this could slow down
decision-making, but yield better products and employee/customer
satisfaction.
3. Mission and vision statements (as they affect the strategic direction)
The mission statement of the company is:
“We will provide the most innovative customer-driven design and growth in
the industry.”
The vision statement is:
“We will be the most sustainable company in the industry.”
The company’s vision and mission statements are different initiatives that a
intertwine to make a visionary and socially conscience company. The mission
statement is being fulfilled strategically through the organizational structure.
The decentralized structure allows for a creative and innovative atmosphere
to thrive. The company embodies their vision statement well by producing
foldable boats manufactured with sustainable design and net-zero
environmental impact.
