 Symptoms of psychosis:
o Persecutory delusions

 Acetaminophen 325 mg:
o Pain reliever and fever reducer
o Used to treat mild-moderate pain

colds, flu and fevers

o Risks
 Increase risk of death in older adults w dementia related psychosis
 Using during last 3 mo of pregnancy can cause medical problems:
breathing, feeding, withdrawal for newborn
o Side effects:
 Allergic reactions: hives, breathing, swelling
 Uncontrolled muscle movement in face
 Stiffness in neck, tightness in throat, trouble breathing or swallowing
 Light headed
 Confusion, agitation, low white blood cell count, severe nervous system

 Weakness, seizure, jaundice, breast swelling
 Common ones: drowsiness, dry mouth, stuffy nose, blurred vision,
constipation and trouble w orgasm
o Drug class: phenothiazine antiemetics: used to relieve nausea and vomiting. Work
by inhibiting dopamine, sucarinic and histamine receptros in vomiting center and
chemoreceptor trigger zone
o Helps restore balance of certain natural substances in the brain
o Benefits: helps you think more clearly, feel less nervous, take part in everyday
life.
