INTRODUCTION
International Human Rights Law (IHRL) is a substantial advancement in the realm of
Public International Law (PIL). International Human Rights Law (IHRL) is a distinct
field that specifically concentrates on safeguarding and advancing human rights on a
global scale. It has had significant growth since the mid-20th century, especially after
the creation of the United Nations (UN) and the implementation of the Universal
Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) in 1948. This essay seeks to provide a clear
definition of international human rights law and differentiate it from humanitarian law,
international criminal law, and international refugee law. This article will analyse the
diverse domains of international law, considering their individual characteristics,
purposes, and legal frameworks. It will emphasize the crucial role of International
Human Rights Law (IHRL) in protecting human dignity and promoting justice
worldwide. By conducting a rigorous examination, we will examine how each discipline
tackles distinct facets of human rights and humanitarian issues, so enhancing our
comprehension of global legal safeguards.
