Format and Length
The JD-Next Exam is timed and includes essay and multiple-choice sections.
The total combined time for the JD-Next Exam (essay and multiple-choice)
is 4 hours, which includes a 10-minute break midway through the exam.
The essay will be a timed section of 30 minutes. The essay is not graded but
will be used as a timed, secured writing sample in law school applications.
The multiple-choice section includes 80 questions across 15 topics. There are
60 graded questions, plus 20 ungraded questions that allow JD-Next to
validate new exam questions for future use. The test taker will not be aware of
which questions are graded or ungraded. Test takers will have 200 minutes to
complete the multiple-choice questions.
Device Specifications and System Requirements:
The JD-Next Exam is delivered remotely using Territorium’s EdTest.ai
assessment platform.
The exam requires LockDown Browser. LockDown Browser is a client
application that is installed to a local computer.
System Requirements for LockDown Browser:
Operating System:
o Windows: 10 & 11 (Important: “S mode” and “SE” are not
compatible)
o Mac: MacOS 10.15 to 14.0+.
o Chromebook: ChromeOS (see additional specifications below)
Note about Chromebook Support: It is not recommended to use
Chromebook for the JD-Next exam if you have an alternative option from the
