P2 - Size and scope of organisations

The economy affects the scope of organisations. It is the choices made by chosen
businesses to manage limited resources. It is important businesses manage their resources
it is the excess of human wants over what can actually be produced to fulfil these wants.
One business that has been affected by this is Mcdonald's as fewer teenagers are applying
at Mcdonald's. This is not good as they suffer shortage of labour (Sterrett, D. 2007) which
then affects the demand as Mcdonald's is a fast food restaurant therefore it needs enough
employees to meet the demands of customers.

Mcdonald's is a large, global business. It is the leading global food service retailer in the
world with more than 30,000 restaurants, serving 52 million people in more than 100
countries each day. Mcdonald's mission statement is ‘to be our customers favorite place and
way to eat and drink’. This indicates that Mcdonald's care about their customers and they
want to gain loyal customers and retain them. They want customers to come back and want
to be their number 1. It’s vision is “to move with velocity to drive profitable growth and
become an even better McDonald’s serving more customers delicious food each day around
the world.” This indicates that they want to maximise their profit and keep improving their
food to make sure it is the best. It shows that Mcdonald's are committed to customers and
make sure they are top priority while decision making, they run their business in a way
nothing is harmed and they want to give jobs to help their community.

Mcdonald's strategic objectives are to:
 achieve a competitive advantage through people who are high calibre, effective, well
motivated and feel part of the McDonald’s team in delivering the company’s goals.
 sell more products or services than any of its competitors
 place the customer experience at the care of all we do
 give back to the community

These objectives help Mcdonald's achieve their purpose as Mcdonald's tries to give best
customer service so the customers return and more products are sold. Giving back to
