Uncompensated Respiratory Alkalosis Cause-can be caused by conditions such as hyperventilation, anxiety, high altitude, or severe pain. Uncompensated Respiratory Alkalosis Signs and Symptoms-lightheadedness, dizziness, tingling in the extremities, rapid breathing, and palpitations. Compensated Respiratory Alkalosis Description-occurs when the kidneys decrease the retention of bicarbonate (HCO3-) to restore the acid-base balance in response to respiratory alkalosis. Compensated Respiratory Alkalosis Cause-caused by the same underlying conditions as uncompensated respiratory alkalosis.
