Thermodynamics and Marine Propulsion | Full Class Notes | Grade: A
Class notes on introductory thermodynamics with a focus on marine applications, alongside several marine propulsion methods in detail. Covers heat transfer, control volume analysis, P-V, T-V, P-T diagrams, 1st and 2nd laws, enthalpy, entropy, devices (nozzles, diffusers, pumps, turbines, valves), thermodynamic cycle analyses (Carnot, Rankine, Otto, Diesel, Brayton, more), ship resistance calculations, propeller diagrams and analyses, self-propulsion tests, intro to computational methods (blade element / momentum theory). Includes many worked-examples and explanations, in black and blue ink for clarity. NB: I received an A in the class, and producing and reading over these notes comprised my primary form of learning and studying.
