“Choosing a book for learners is the first step to turning them into enthusiastic readers.”
Drawing on all the knowledge you have gained through this module, explain how you would go
about choosing a text to read with FAL learners in the Intermediate Phase in a South African,
multicultural classroom.
Your essay should be 3-4 typed OR hand-written pages long, and you must write in your own
words.
There is lots of information in your study guide about choosing a text for young learners in a
multicultural group. You can refer to any of the information in the study guide but you must
include these factors:
