Research strategy - ANSWER-General plan of how the researcher will go about answering the research questions. Experiment - ANSWER-Research strategy that involves the definition of a theoretical hypothesis, selection of samples of individuals from known populations, allocation of samples to different experimental conditions, introduction of planned change on one or more of the variables and measurement on a small number of variables and control of other variables. Control group - ANSWER-Group in an experiment that, for the sake of comparison, does not receive the intervention in which you are interested. Internal validity - ANSWER-Extent to which findings can be attributed to interventions rather than any flaws in your research design. External validity - ANSWER-The extent to which the research results from a particular study are generalizable to all relevant contexts. Survey strategy - ANSWER-Research strategy that involves the structured collection of data from a sizable population. (more that using questionnaires, includes structured observation and structured interviews). Case study - ANSWER-An intensive study of a single unit for the purpose of understanding a larger class of (similar) units Triangulation - ANSWER-The use of two or more independent sources of data or data-collection methods within one study to corroborate research findings within a study. Action research - ANSWER-Research strategy concerned with the management of a change and involving close collaboration between practitioners and researchers. The results flowing from action research should also inform other contexts.
