The former licensee shall apply for licensure as a new applicant The Licensure exams maybe administered by the board or a designated testing service School fee $185 Application LATE FEE $220 $185 Renewal LATE FEE $220 $370 Reinstatement LATE FEE $440 It is illegal to tattoo a person : 1. under 18 year of age 2. under the influence of alcohol or drugs 18 VAC 41-50-10 Definition of licensee is A person, partnership. association limited liability company, or corporation holding a license issued by the Board of Barber and Cosmetology Pets are not allowed in a tattoo parlor 18 VAC 41-50-20 The general requirement for tattooer, limited-term tattooer, permanent cosmetic tattooer, or master permanent cosmetic tattooer: in order to receive a license applicant must: Sign as part of the application a statement certifying that applicant has read and understand the Virginia tattooing license laws and the boards tattooing regulations Schools are required to keep upon graduation, termination, or withdrawal, written records of hours and performance of students for a period of: 5 years 18 VAC 41-50-70 Requirements for tattooing apprenticeship sponsor; a person may qualify if meets the following qualifications: 1. Hold a current VA tattooer license 2. Provides documentation of legally participating in tattooing for at least 5 years 3.
