Method selection:
When reading this question, I was quite interested. The LBQTI+ community is a field of
interest of mine as I work with a rage of people from all walks of life on a daily basis. I
first consulted the website provided (Defining LGBTQ+ 2023) to best understand the
different gender identities described. I also thought back to a television program
currently showing on MNet, The Habits of GenZ. This program discusses exactly this,
how people of different gender groups are vulnerable and experience the world
differently.
I attended all online sessions for this assignment and found the sessions to be helpful,
the sessions gave a clearer indication of what was expected.
I then engaged with study unit 8 and read through the information before consulting the
resources as provided in the unit.
I found the resources by (DECARLO, 2018) to be very insightful, I used this resource
together with (Wiles, 2013) to read up on the ethics of research as well as the issues of
confidentiality, anonymity, and privacy. The resources were easy to understand and
provided me with a good understanding of ethical research.
I ran the following prompts through ChatGPT”
“What is ethics in research?”
“How to conduct research with vulnerable groups”
“What is snowball sampling”
This was purely for me to read what the system generated and see whether there were
similarities in what I had already read up on.
