Domestic Violence Statue - ANS-16-25-20 (A) 16-25-20 (A) or (D) - ANS-Domestic Violence, Third Degree 16-25-20 (A) and (C) - ANS-Domestic Violence, Second Degree 16-25-20 (A) and (B) - ANS-Domestic Violence, First Degree 16-25-20 (A) and 16-25-65 (A), (D) - ANS-Domestic Violence of a High and Aggravated Nature D.V. 3rd: Class, Court and Punishment - ANS-Misdemeanor Summary Court 0-90 days and/or fined $1,000 - $2,500 D.V. 2nd: Class, Court and Punishment - ANS-Misdemeanor General Sessions 0-3 years and/or $2,500 - $5,000 D.V. 1st: Class, Court and Punishment - ANS-Felony General Sessions Court 0-10 years Deadly Weapon or D.W. - ANS-Any pistol, dirk, slingshot, metal knuckles, razor, or other instrument which can be used to inflict deadly force. Great Bodily Injury or G.B.I. - ANS-Bodily injury which causes a substantial risk of death, or which causes serious, permanent disfigurement or protracted loss or impairment of the function of a bodily member or organ. Household Member or H.M. - ANS-- A spouse - A former spouse - Person who have a child in common - A male and female who are cohabitating or formerly have cohabitated. Cohabitating - ANS-Living together in an intimate relationship. Common Children or C.C. - ANS-Biological or adopted children shared between two persons. Obergefell v. Hodges - ANS-Was a court case ruling that granted rights to same-sex married couples as are afforded to heterosexual couples through marriage. Jane Dove V. the State of S.C. - ANS-Was a court case ruling that couples should be recognized when dealing with "household members" in reference to an Order of Protection in S.C. Moderate Bodily Injury or M.B.I. - ANS-Physically injury that involves prolonged loss of consciousness or that causes temporary or moderate disfigurement or temporary loss of the function of a bodily member or organ or injury that requires medical treatment when the treatment requires the use of regional or general anesthesia or injury that results in a fracture or dislocation.
