How do we screen for anxiety?
- GAD-2
o 2 questions
o How often symptoms have been preent over 2 weeks
o E.g. nervous, on edge, anxious, uncontrollable worrying
- If 3 or more do GAD-7 or refer on
How do we diagnose GAD?
- At least 6 months of symptoms
- Excessive worry
- Three or more symptoms
- can’t stop overthinking
- constant reassurance needed
- can have health problems
o may be worrying about them more
- Over arousal and irritability
o tiring to be constantly worrying
- Insomnia and poor concentration
Diagnose panic disorder?
- One month of persistant worry
- Following a panick attack
- Fight or flight
- Very intense
- Worrying thoughts
Social anxiety diagnose?
- At least 6 months
- Overwhelmed in social situations
- Out of proportion
- Meeting strangers fear
- Worry they will say something wrong
