Unit 18 Managing a Business Event
Produce guidelines for dealing with problems
Introduction
In this task it would be described five problems that our team encountered
during managing our event and how those problems could be resolved by
giving adequate solutions to them. It is essential for an event organise to
prepare in time for possible issues during the event that could tangle our event
to run well and be successful.
Problems and solutions
Not enough product
Not having enough products to sell is one of the big issue that our team faced.
In fact if this issue wasn’t resolved than our event couldn’t be as successful as
it was. The product that was limited is cold drinks as water and Coca-Cola.
Those two products we have been selling them at the price of £0.50 each
which make the customers to buy them as soon as they saw the marketing
price. Therefore the high demand of this products make us to worry about our
customers and the further profit that could be made if we bought more from
the beginning. This issue had a solution of buying more products during the
event by having a good liaison with delegates ,one member of our team run
quickly to the nearest market. If the products were out of stock in the nearest
market that we would decide to buy something similar to coke and water.
Too much product
Having a lot of products to sell aside ,is another issue that our team
encountered. This happened due to the fact that the products we have ,wasn’t
popular through our students. Those products were lollipops, Linder and jelly
sweets at the price of £0.50 each. In fact , this problem might be due to the
fact that the products were to expensive or the majority of attendees were part
of Muslim religion , therefore they do not eat jelly sweet as is based on pork fat
and they don’t eat pork at all. A solution to this problem could be to drop the
price of the products to £0.20 each, if these will not make any difference than
two members of our team could go through classes, open access , canteen ,
LRC and etc. in order to advertise the remained products and sell it as fast as
possible. Another solution could be to buy different types of sweets including
religious food , vegetarians and allergic people.
Faulty equipment
Another important issues that our team faced are having faulty equipment as
the charger of the TV wasn’t working properly. This is a common problem
within the event planning industry and also is an important part to take in
consideration. Faulty equipment can only damage the products we already
merchandise as X-Box and the Fifa 18 CD.Both
of them are expensive to replace or repair. Also having a faulty charger
affected our event reputation and delayed our game to start making the
customers to wait, therefore it decreased the customer satisfaction. In fact we
had to deal with non-delivery of resources that were the faulty equipment To
ensure this problem does not happen , all equipment should be checked 24
