The fading of the sunlight had also meant the fading of the heat. Wintry air swirled
around the park taking every lick of warmth it could. The laughter of the children in
the park died along with the light of the day. Nighttime twists back around again,
children are tucked in, gangsters walk. A gloomy silence filled the air. /Above us all,
blanketed the blackest of black night skies… So pure and cold, death couldn't cause
it any harm. Embedded into it, twinkled pure crystalline stars, like someone had gone
and planted each and every diamond so we could all just admire their stunning
natural beauty. The air was so chilled that it hurt to breathe. A silver orb snuggled in
the clouds.

The leaves rustled in the wind.
Leaves scurry along the path and the breeze becomes more keen, raising
goosebumps on Ivy's arm.

The park was so quiet that the silence was an uncomfortable pressure against my
eardrums. The skeletal branches stretched and snapped in the wind, as the shadows
of tired trees lurked in distance. Their inky branches reached up in the sky. Where
they sleeping? Near the trees there was a bench that was carved from a winter fallen
tree the kids loved it more than any other seat in the park. Sitting there with their
sandwiches they nibbled like the squirrels, enjoying the company of the affable
(friendly) trees.

The sparkling stars shimmered and danced playfully in the moonlit sky.

Casting a warm, orange glow, the street light shone in the moonlight, as a leaf of
honey gold danced forlornly in the wind. Peeping through the clouds, the sun begins
to lift the blanket of darkness. It rose in a hurry as if trying to make up for setting too
early the evening before. As darkness surrenders, every colour changes from tinges
of charcoal to a vibrancy. A distant horizon burned with lightning, as the blending
clouds tumbled across the sky. The sweet surrendering scent of the morning dew
filled the privileged park with a scent that did not belong on earth. Cheerfully the
birds sings a sweet song. A new day had come, new possibilities, new motives, a
fresh page yet to be written.
