Cell injury
Wordt veroorzaakt door hypoxia (te weinig zuurstof), physical agents, chemical
agents/drugs, infectes, immunologische reactes, genetsche fouten, te kort aan
nutrienten.
o Reversible injury: schade die aangericht wordt aan cellen, waarvan cellen
kunnen genezen. Voorbeeld: na 10 minuten geen zuurstof naar het hart,
kunnen de cellen weer genezen.
o Irriversible injury: cell damage gaat over in celdood (necrosis of apoptosis)
Necrosis: alle cellen in omgeving gaat ‘plotseling’ dood.
Apoptosis: geprogrammeerde celdood.
- Hyperplasia: cellen zijn erg vermeerderd. Nog
niet echt een tumor.

- Hypertrophy (increase in cell size).
- Atrophy (decrease in cell size and functon).
- Metaplasia: change in cell diferentaton.
- Intracellular accumulaton and storage of products in abnormal amounts.
- Neoplasia or a tumour is pathologic hyperplasia.
- Malignant tumour: kwaadaardige tumor.
- Benign tumour: goedaardige tumor.
