Health- “state of (complete) physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease
or infirmity” (WHO, 1948)

Mental health- “a state of well-being in which every individual realises his or her own potential, can cope
with hormonal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully and is able to make a contribution to
her or his community” (WHO, 2001)
Mental health difficulties are when our experience differs
from these. Differences in the way we think, feel, and
behave

Differences that are typically considered:

To negatively affect the individual (sometimes those around
them)

According to DSM-5 (APA< 2013) mental health conditions include:
