From Tutorial Letter 101 you will be aware that you are required to produce a draft research paper
as Assignment 02, and that Assignment 03 (examination) consists of a final research paper that
forms the exit-level assessment for RRLLB81.
The purpose of this tutorial letter (Tutorial Letter 102) is as follows:
1. It provides the research topics for the writing up of your research paper. Each department
in the College of Law has provided a research topic or topics together with certainguidelines
in respect of sources and references that you can consult in your initial research. You are
required to choose one (1) topic from those provided below. The topic you select will form
the basis of your assignments in RRLLB81 and you are required to stick to the topic
throughout the semester. Refer to Section A of this tutorial letter for further
instructions.
2. It provides a self-assessment rubric that you can use to assess your research and a final
marking rubric that we will use to assess Assignment 03 (examination). Refer to Section
B of this tutorial letter for further instructions.
3. It provides a template that we suggest you use for your research write-up. The template
applies to both Assignment 02 and Assignment 03. Make use of this template to ensure
consistency of formatting in your final research paper. We will upload this template under
Additional Resources on myUnisa in Word format for your convenience. Refer toSection
C of this tutorial letter for further instructions.
