, Plot Summary
Theory of flight is a novel about a girl named Genie. She is
an incredible human who lives a life of caring for others
and being brave despite all odds. The book starts by
looking into her family's history. We look into Genie's father
Golide, and his parents and how he met Genie’s mother,
Elizabeth. Golide had an obsession with plane since he
was young. The day he met Elizabeth is the day he
realized his purpose in life. He had to build a plane to fly is
love to America to become a country music star. He shoots
down a plane to get its parts, when he shoots down the
plane, he see’s a vision of his daughter Genie being born,
and he suddenly knows his purpose in life. The book
mainly takes place on Beauford farm and estate and
follows genies life and her planned death after a long battle
with HIV and all the people Genie meets in her life.
