P2 - Explain how to build cohesive team that perform well

In this task I am going to be explaining how different people can recruit members to build a
team, I will also talk about the issues with a very strong team, then ending it off saying how
teams can overcome any problems they may face.

The team I am going to talk about is from P1 is the Arsenal football team. Arsenal’s
recruiting process is very sophisticated as they would employ new players and staffs to the
club in order for the team to make improvements and do better. Every football team has their
own way of recruiting people, this means that Arsenal also would have their own way of
recruitment, one way can be that they will bring in players from the youth team or rank,
depending on the player’s performance it will be the managers decision of bringing them to
the main team. Another way that Arsenal would recruit players is that they can see the
transfer market to find a player that they think will better the team’s performance. This
means that the Arsenal football club will have to pay a certain amount of money in order for
them to purchase the player. Another way they might recruit is that they will have scouts in
different selected countries and cities, and they will handpick players who has a possibility to
have a professional career at Arsenal.

After being recruited, they have to undergo the induction process where they will introduce
any new employees. The induction process is very important for the organisation as they are
responsible of any problems raise, for example, if the new employees misuses a certain type
of machinery when they are doing a activity, which then can cause health and safety issues.
The purpose of the induction process is to teach how the organisation operates, as every
company operate differently. In Arsenal case, the induction for the players will mean they
would be introduced to the other team players, staffs, managers and they would be given a
tour around their stadium, locker room, training ground, showing where they will be training
and playing. From this the new players will be motivated as they feel welcome to play for the
club.

After the induction process, the next step is mentoring. This is way is done by the
organisation as they must advise and educate the players of the team is performing, this can
be teaching different new tactics and plays that they will have to practice and use on the real
game. Mentoring is a very important process of helping the team to develop better and make
improvement, which in the long term can help the club to win games. Arsenal will mentor
their players throughout the player’s career in order to bring the best out of them, the injured
players will also be mentored which can help them to recover more quickly as they will be
also learning about trying to reduce the risk of being injured. One way they can be mentoring
their players is arranging meetings in which they can talk about the team’s strengths and
weaknesses, from here they can spot out which individual is not performing as well, so from
here they can make improvements.

Training is a process in which the players themselves would have to teach for them to make
developments on their skills so they can become even better than before. The players in the
club would be advised by other players or staffs who has much better experience, from this
it’s a matter of keep having to training, also to identify and practise on the player’s
weaknesses.
