Global Warming: The Effects of Burning Fossil Fuels Global Warming is becoming one of the major issues that the world will have to face. Since global warming affects our home planet, we cannot ignore this problem. Due to the large amount of pollution and carbon dioxide, the world is heading toward a devastating future. As the Earth warms up, sea levels and temperatures rise all around the world. If these tends keeps up, our world could be under water. Most people do not educate themselves about how bad this issue has become because they do not have the time or they simply do not care. Humans are one of the causes of this disaster because we drive cars everyday and mass produce goods, which release CO2. Climate change is perhaps the ultimate global problem. It is caused by everyone, affects everyone, and requires the cooperation of everyone for its solution. Mounting evidence suggests that a warming world is already contributing to major problems, from refugee crises prompted by rising sea levels to famines caused by desertification. Yet national leaders have found reaching agreements on how to tackle this global challenge remarkably difficult (Climate p299-320). Even though there are many causes of Global Warming, burning fossil fuels is the major cause. There are many types of fossil fuels but the three main types are coal, oil and natural gases. Fossil fuels are bad for the environment when burned, and the only way to stop pollution is to find another way to produce energy.
