Mosquito eggs are usually found where? Near or on water When do Aedes eggs hatch? They hatch when flooded, they are normally laid near water. What are the three primary factors that attract mosquitos to hosts? Carbon monoxide, warmth, and moisture, in that order of importance. When is mosquito control at its best? It is normally most effective in the larval stage. What methods can be used to deal with mosquito larvae in water sources besides pesticide? 1. remove the water completely 2. Increase the amount of standing water in order to introduce predaceous fish 3. Increasing the movement of the water, thus creating stress conditions for the larvae and pupals. What are the different forms of mosquito larvicides? Granular larvicides: These are good for spot treatments and making sure that the poison gets into the water and not in vegetation.
