QUESTION 1
(a) Anthropocentrism is a philosophical perspective that asserts the centrality and
significance of human beings in the universe. This viewpoint regards people as the
paramount element in every given circumstance and analyses the surrounding
universe via a framework that prioritizes human interests. Within the realm of
environmental ethics, anthropocentrism asserts that the environment is significant
only to the extent that it contributes to and fulfils human interests and necessities.
This perspective often results in the conviction that people possess control over
the natural world and the entitlement to use its resources for their own advantage.
