The Role Of Web Architecture In Website Communication - M1
Web 2.0
Web 2.0 is the name used to the describe the second generation of the world wide web,
where it moved static HTML pages to a more interactive and dynamic web experience. Web
2.0 is focused on the ability for people to collaborate and share information online via social
media, blogging and Web-based communities.

The old web consisted of static web pages that require the actual web pages code itself to
be changed and edited in order to change the content of a website that is being hosted on a
web server. This made it very hard for websites to interact with each other and made the
website itself very boring and hard to develop.

With the introduction of all of the features that are starting to appear within web 2.0 it is now
easier than ever to develop websites and web pages that are dynamic and always changing
even without you having to do anything, this is because of the use of scripts and interactive
languages that work on the web server that allow for websites to become easier to design,
maintain and change.

One of the benefits of having web 2.0 is that it allows web-based applications to behave
dynamically and like software applications which have been installed on desktop computers.
For example Google Spreadsheet is a spreadsheet tool that works like Microsoft Excel with
the exception you won’t have to download or install any software. Also it is collaborative, so
multiple users can work on one or more spreadsheet at any different time. And the best thing
is, it is free for all customers to use.

Cloud Computing
The concept of cloud storage, is to be able to access and edit data from anywhere as fast as
possible. It does this by uploading your information online where it can then be downloaded
onto any device connected to the account you uploaded it with. However a downside to this
is that to view the cloud you need an internet access and large files may take a long time to
upload/download if you have a poor connection.

Using Cloud Computing can change the way companies use technology to contact their
suppliers, partners or customers. For example some businesses have already started to
store most of their IT resources into the cloud. This has been done to save time, space and
money.

Another benefit of cloud computing is that, when you store something on your hard drive it is
known as Local Storage and is available to you whenever you turn your computer on.
However when storing something on your hard drive if the computer you are using fails you
have lost everything on your hard drive.
