Introduction

Self-awareness is the basis for interpersonal success, efficient communication, and personal

development. Self-aware people are deeply conscious of their feelings, thoughts, strengths,

shortcomings, values, and motives. Self-awareness may be improved by understanding how one's

personality impacts their approach to handling conflicts. X wants to be more aware of his behavior and

emotions and make deliberate attempts to improve his approach by understanding his inclinations,

strengths, and weaknesses in handling conflicts. A personal conflict resolution style can help with

communication and negotiation because conflict is a fundamental element of all relationships. X can

adjust his conduct to strengthen his connections with others if he understands how his personality

affects how he responds to conflict.

Biographical data

X grew up in … with a foster family. Even though X was in a loving foster home, his parents

were emotionally distant, rarely expressing their emotions or demonstrating affection. Due to () culture,

there is a strong emphasis on sustaining peace and averting conflict. Consequently, openly expressing

emotions or feelings are frequently perceived as a sign of weakness or lack of self-control. Therefore,

his parents and teachers expected X to keep his emotions in control and put the group's requirements

ahead of his feelings. His family was not particularly encouraged to talk about feelings or have an open

dialog in order to resolve conflicts. As a result, X found it difficult to properly convey his emotions, as

he was frequently required to conceal them and lacked a person with whom he could discuss them

openly.

After moving to Amsterdam, X faced challenges resolving personal conflicts with his girlfriend.

Although X tries to avoid conflict situations, sometimes it is not possible, and he needs to find a way to
