Difference between Private and Commercial Applicators - ANSWER-Private Pesticide Applicators is someone using pesticides to raise Agricultural commodity, on land owned or rented by him or his employer. A Commercial Pesticide Applicator is defined as: anyone applying pesticides as a service for compensation. Once a commercial pesticide applicator is certified - ANSWER-MUST renew their license on an annual basis and complete the recertification every 5 years. Recertification is accomplished by retaking the certification exams or by attending continuing education courses and accumulating units of recertification credit. NOT every user of pesticides needs to be a licensed certified applicator. - ANSWER-Instead you can work under the direct supervision of a certified Commercial Pesticide Applicator or Private Pesticide Applicator AND The certified applicator is available if and when needed. Basic Pesticide Training Course - ANSWER-1.Proper uses of application equipment 2.The hazards of using pesticides 3.Specific mixing instructions 4.Protective clothing and safety equipment to be used when handling pesticides 5. The proper rinsing and disposal of containers and the cleaning/decontamination of equipment 6.Applicable State and Federal pesticide laws and regulations 7.How to interpret and understand pesticide labeling 8.An understanding of the principals of "Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Aerial Application - ANSWER-One Commercial Pesticide Applicator certified and licensed must be physically present during Aerial Applications. ALL pesticide applications performed by commercial pesticide applicators, private pesticide applicators or commercial pesticide operators - ANSWER-Are subject to record keeping requirements. These records must be kept on file for 3 years ALL records of termiticide applications must be kept for a minimum of five years.
