International Civil Aviation Organisation of the differences between its own practices and
that established by the international standard."

Each contracting State may, subject to the provisions of this Convention, designate the route to be
followed within its territory by any international air service and the airports which any such service

SECTION 9 - AIR SPACE AND AIR NAVIGATION STANDARDS, which is adopted/drawn from ICAO Annex
2 (Rules Of Air ) and Annex 11 (Air Traffic Services).
The objectives of the air traffic services shall be to:
a) prevent collisions between aircraft;
b) prevent collisions between aircraft on the maneuvering area and obstructions on that area;
c) expedite and maintain an orderly flow of air traffic;
d) provide advice and information useful for the safe and efficient conduct of flights;
e) notify appropriate organizations regarding aircraft in need of search and rescue aid, and assist
such organizations as required.

a)Aerodrome control service.
Aerodrome control service is a part of The Air Traffic Control (ATC) service:
• The provision of air traffic control service for aerodrome traffic, except for those parts
of flights which are under the jurisdiction.
• It is the service provided for the whole aerodrome traffic on the maneuvering area of an
aerodrome and for all aircraft flying in the vicinity of an aerodrome.
Objectives: In accordance with ICAO Annex 2 & 11 and DGCA---CAR---Section 9, Series E, Part 1.

and informing about any aircraft that are, or appear to be, in a state of emergency.
Alerting service shall be provided:
• For all aircraft provided with air traffic control service;
• In so far as practicable, to all other aircraft having filed a flight plan or otherwise known
to ATS; and
• To any aircraft known or believed to be the subject of unlawful interference.
c) Area control center:
In air traffic control, an area control center, also known as an en-route center, is a facility responsible
for controlling aircraft flying in a particular volume of airspace at high altitudes between airport
approaches and departures.
A center typically accepts traffic from, and ultimately passes traffic to, the control of a terminal
control center or another center. Most centers are operated by the national governments of the
countries in which they are located. The general operations of centers worldwide, and the
boundaries of the airspace each center controls, are governed by the International
Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
