An integrated ethical decision-making model for nurses
Every profession has a guiding code of conduct. It governs the behavior of activity (Vincent, 2015). It is a stipulated set of standards that clearly stipulates the code within which a given people ought to operate within. They help in making an informed decision when evaluating the consequences of one’s actions. Ethical decision making involves using the stipulated ethical code of conduct to make certain choices when faced with ethical dilemmas. This situation has no exact or clearly stipulated right or wrong answer. The nursing profession is no different. The nursing code of ethics entails the principles and standards that guide the conduct of a licensed health care professional Vincent, 2015) Ethical decision making in the nursing profession guides nurses in making informed decisions when evaluating the consequences of undertaking a given course of action.
