Unit 12 – M1 Kojar Ahmed

In this report, I will talk about and explain the benefits of internet marketing to customers, I
will analyse the benefits of each heading and will explain the ways in which customers again.
I will be referring to P3 where I previously highlighted the benefits of online marketing.

One benefit of internet marketing to consumers is the ability to compare products and
providers with relative ease, this allows consumers to identify a good starting point for the
price a product is worth, and therefore allows them to locate the best retailer with the most
reasonable price. Having access to the internet also allows consumers to discover lesser
known retailers which also stock the product they are looking for, this helps support small
and local businesses. The internet also offers price comparison sites which can compare the
benefits to buying a product from different retailers, such as warranties etc.

As well as price transparency, the internet ensures consumers always have access to up to
date information about a product at all times. This is because businesses will initially upload
their products on their website with as much info as possible, this is largely the reason why
consumers have confidence in buying from their website. Another reason businesses and
suppliers do this is for the simple fact that customers cannot physically examine the product
and decide on whether they should buy it, businesses will compensate for this by providing
as much detail as possible. When compared to buying products on the high street, buying
online allows users to be informed as possible about consumer opinion about a product, this
is provided through online reviews. Shopping online will provide consumers with the
following information to help them make a decision on whether to purchase a product:
price, detailed description, colour options (if applicable), images and consumer reviews. This
information may be more difficult to obtain in person.

Dynamic pricing allows for huge savings for consumers who are willing to look around to find
the best price, whereas this would be a lot harder and more time consuming in a store. The
main reason why consumes can save so much from buying online is businesses can very
quickly and easily change prices based off customer reviews or the market condition. This is
very common with hotels and airlines which regularly change their prices based off demand
for seats and rooms.

The one thing most consumers have in common is they prefer quick and responsive
transactions to having to wait in line at a checkout, the internet provides this in an easy and
convenient way, allowing them to make bookings and buy products within little to no time.
This is common with businesses like EasyJet and Trivago which both allow bookings to be
completed with almost no effort as long as you have an internet connection.

Lastly, the internet allows businesses and their customer service departments to easily
communicate with anyone that may require assistance with a product or is unhappy with a
purchase, this is also beneficial from the consumers point of view because they can get in
touch very easily if they have any questions. Not only does this make the business look
favourable in the public eye but it also enables the business itself to see any issues or faults
with their products very quickly, therefore allowing them to fix the issue before anyone else
