LARE Section 1: Project & Construction Management Pre-Project Management - ANS ️️ (10%) The designer pursues a particular project for a client. Through discussions about the desired final product, a scope of services and deliverables are arrived at. The designer prepares a design proposal which if agreed to becomes a contract between the client and the designer. Thus the project begins. Project Management - ANS ️️ (30%) Relating to the LARE, project management begins with determining the project scope and assembling an appropriate design team, going through the design process while communicating progress with the client and completing "permittable documents that protect the health, safety and welfare of the public. These documents have been prepared so that the project can be constructed within an established budget Whether this is the case or not will be tested during the bidding process. Bidding - ANS ️️ (20%) Combining the design documents with other bid and contract documents, the project is then reviewed by prospective contractors who decide whether they wish to provide a bid. The designer plays a particular role in the bidding process, answering questions that arise during the bid process, assisting the owner in choosing a contractor by assessing the bids and possibly investigating bidder qualifications. Construction - ANS ️️ (30%) Like in bidding, the designer plays a particular role during construction. Usually not related to the physical execution of the design documents, but participating in meetings with the owner and contractor, providing clarifications to documentation questions, reviewing construction progress that the installation is proceeding as designed and providing substantial completion and punch list services once the contractor declares the completion of construction. Maintenance - ANS ️️ (10%) The designer's participation in the project may not end with construction. At times, the designer may be asked to prepare maintenance and operation manuals, prepare a management plan and review maintenance services. Components of Pre-Project Management (7) - ANS ️️ -Preparation of or response to a Request for Qualification (RFQ) or Request for Proposal (RFP) -Determine project scope and client requirements -Develop design program -Establish Scope of Services and required outside expertise (selecting a team of project consultants) -Establish project budget -Prepare and negotiate contractual agreements with the client -Establish project schedule Client - ANS ️️ A person usin
