Employee Engagement

- Employee engagement (EE) describes the level of enthusiasm and dedication a
worker feels toward their job. Engaged employees care about their work and about
the performance of the company, and feel that their efforts make a difference.

Engagement Strategies
- Open communication
- Education and training
- Rewards for performance
- Appreciation over recognition

- EE is about creating an environment that makes employees feel free to be creative
and comfortable so that the environment is conducive to productivity

- Commitment is defined as the degree of identification and involvement that
individuals have with their organisations mission, values and goals

- This translates into their desire to stay with the organisation, belief in its objectives
and values, and the strength of the employee effort in the pursuit of business
objectives
- Commitment is a subsume of the concept of EE

3 Key Elements of Commitment
- Affective - staying because you're emotionally attached
- Continuance - staying because you have to ie. no options
- Normative - staying because you think you have to

- Employer Branding (EB) is the practise of developing, differentiating and
leveraging an organisations brand message to its current and future workforce
in a manner that's meaningful to them

- EB uses the methodology of corporate brand ie. building strategy, to attract and keep
quality employers, aimed at motivation and securing employees alignment with the
vision and values of the company
- It is the process of communicating the organisation's brand value to its employees
